We’re in the Titanic!
I’m not playing games with your minds. We ARE in the Titanic. Except, there is a plot twist, we can see the glacier in front of us. Hmm..interesting, right? But, what would we do if we could see the glacier? We’d get out of its way, wouldn’t we? So why aren’t we doing it now? And yes, I used the Titanic in a metaphorical way to depict[...drumroll...]climate change.
Climate change-people call it the crisis of our time, and they’re absolutely right. Many of us don’t know what climate change is. So, let’s start at the very beginning.
The earth is 4.543 billion years old, add or subtract about 50 million years. Back then, the whole planet was green and beautiful. A few of you may say, “it’s still beautiful”. But guess what? You’re wrong. To start off, everyone knows about carbon-dioxide, right? The emission of this gas has always been neutral because an equal amount of oxygen was released. But that is until the 1950’s. Guess what caused it to raise in the 1950’s? The industrial revolution. The emission of this deadly gas has been raising since then and it hasn’t stopped.
Why did the emissions not stop? Because we cut down trees. Trees provide oxygen, which makes the carbon-dioxide neutral. But since we cut them down, the carbon-dioxide has been increasing. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this chart that is proven true by environmentalists.
It’s still increasing in number with every letter I type. That chart is dated till the year 2000, but it’s increased even more. This carbon-dioxide emission leads to the greenhouse effect.
The greenhouse effect is caused when the harmful gasses like carbon-dioxide and many others pull the sunlight in the earth’s surface. The heat the the sunlight entering the surface depletes the ozone layer. The ozone layer protects us from UV Rays i.e. harmful rays of the sun.
And because of global warming the sea waters expand and the glaciers melt. When that happens the chances of flood increases by every second. The cities living nears seas have experienced many of these floods in the past 50 years.
Not just this, there are MANY destructions on our planet because of climate change. Many of which i cannot fit in one post. So, will you help this Titanic go around the glacier?
Peace Out,
Crystal♡
Very well written. Helped me understand the climate change and made me realise the dangers of it.
ReplyDeletePlease write an article on how everyone of us can contribute towards reducing the dangers.
Thank you for going through it. Means a lot.
DeleteI’m working on the next article on carbon footprints. I’ll surely make an article on how we can contribute to it 🖤
Dear pari what u write hear with statistic update is 100%true ...we are facing all tese cz of our greediness...if v cannot correct it now ..v only put our self our generation in to dangeor zone

DeleteYes, humans are contributing a lot in their own destruction. We should learn to control our greed..
Thanks for going through the article🖤
GOOD PARI...KEEP IT UP
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading🖤
DeleteThough people realize it, do not understand the seriousness and their participation in conservation of nature and environment
ReplyDeleteThat is completely true. People need to start contributing towards the conservation of our planet.
DeleteThanks for reading🖤
In coming 7-8 years we will reach a irreversible point. Hence we should start damage control steps.
ReplyDeleteExactly, we should start taking measures RIGHT NOW. Or one day the earth will be the same as Mars..
DeleteThanks for taking your time to comment🖤
Its very serious we have to stop global warming in whatever we can.
ReplyDeleteTrue. If we don’t do it we will gradually be destroying the earth completely.
DeleteThanks for taking your time to read this🖤
Well articulated. Now it's time to rethink ourselves what we mistakes we are doing.
DeleteThank you🖤
